I have been a nurse for over 20 years and have seen first-hand the devastating impact of poor lifestyle choices and sedentary lifestyles. I want to challenge this health crisis by working with individuals and supporting their health and wellbeing goals. Holistic programmes where I can monitor cardiovascular, haematological and metabolic health through a personalised tailor-made pathway will make delivery impactful and successful.
My advice for anyone who wants to become a health and fitness pro would be - to do it! It’s an evolving and ever-growing industry with many avenues to pursue. I have worked with great personal trainers that have massively helped me with my own personal fitness journeys, and I hope to help others the same.

I have exercised my whole life. Exercising for me is a way to look after my health, body and mind for my future and to be able to be the best version of myself for my family. I value its impact and feel it sets a huge example for my children, who are also exercise enthusiasts. Being a nurse, I spend a lot of my time promoting key health and wellbeing messages regarding exercise and nutrition, which sparked a deeper interest within me to further develop my knowledge and skills. From here, my passion has grown and organically led me to pursue a career in the health and fitness world. Personally, I have also suffered a spinal injury and had to have spinal surgery, which was a very scary time when I could have lost the ability to walk. I thought that any possibility of future exercise would be impossible. The support I was offered and the expert advice and rehabilitation I received have enabled me to be fitter than ever.
I researched in-depth into fitness courses that would give me the complete knowledge base to reach my goals of helping individuals with complex medical histories and health needs, as that is where I felt my speciality would lie with my background. Future Fit was the company for me, offering the course content and specialisation that I needed.
I have so far completed my level 2 gym instructor training since August and have a lot of learning left to do but I feel fully supported by Future Fit to achieve my goals.
I am proud of juggling being a mum of two boys, working as a nurse, running a health promotion company and also starting a new chapter in my life that will enhance my business and help me deliver an enhanced service to my clients.
A roast dinner. My whole family comes together every Sunday, it’s a time when we catch up and share stories of our week over a delicious home-cooked meal!
Do it! It’s an evolving and ever-growing industry with many avenues to pursue. I have worked with great personal trainers in the past that have massively helped me with my own personal fitness journey, and I hope that I am able to help others the same way.
Being part of a community of like-minded students and professionals makes me feel motivated and supported. There is always someone on the other end of the phone or e-mail to offer support and advice, and the people I have met on face-to-face training dates have been amazing.
The Maldives. I’d love to travel to an idyllic, deserted island where I could swim, explore all day, and spend quality quiet time with my family.
