I have finally made the decision to go fully self-employed, working for myself, & bringing up my young family. I teach a range of classes, from women’s only groups, buggy boot camps & boxercise. I absolutely love watching others progress, increase their confidence, reach their fitness goals & achieve something they didn’t think was possible previously! I recognise the importance of community exercise through different stages of our lives and I am proud of the community I have built so far. I also want to create positive role models for my children.
I would advise you to qualify in several disciplines to keep your workload varied and income coming in from different bases.
Lauren St Hilaire
I have always worked in health & fitness since I was 18. I left and went into teaching, but it always crept back in. For example, I would offer free exercise sessions for staff after school.
When I was on maternity leave in 2020, Covid hit, and my husband was at home. I thought to myself, how can I help people through this difficult time?! So I offered free online fitness classes, which built from there. I then started making more of a living from it, offering two 30-minute classes a week. I now have monthly members who choose from 5 weekly classes, as well as a Buggy/Toddler Bootcamp community.
I absolutely love learning, and the fitness industry is ever-changing! My first course was pre and post-natal exercise after the birth of my daughter. I realised how little information there was out there for post-natal women, so I wanted to specialise. I am also passionate about nutrition, so I studied the Level 4 RSPH Nutrition course to support my personal training clients and offer advice to my monthly members. My next aim is to complete a Pilates course, again being able to offer a varied timetable to my participants. I really enjoy learning about the body & mind and how exercise can positively impact this.
I am proud of the fitness community I have created and the support we all offer one another. I am also proud of the balancing act I do every day with my two children. I hope they see that if you really want something, you keep striving for it!

I would advise you to qualify in a couple of disciplines to keep your workload varied and income coming in from different bases.
I love the structure of the training with Future Fit. The online content is really informative and well-structured. It is also interactive, with video clips, multiple choice quizzes etc., to help us learn. The staff are also really friendly and helpful!
I would like to take off for for a few months and travel around Europe.
