Anyone from the age of 16 can enrol and complete any of our non-practical e-learning courses. Practical courses can only be attended on or after your 18th birthday but can be enrolled on and booked in advance of this.
Many gyms will accept applicants of 16 years of age, but be aware that if you are planning to work outside of clubs or leisure centres as a Personal Trainer, an Exercise to Music Instructor or a Pilates Teacher, you may not be eligible for the required insurance until you are 18 years old or over.

E-learning is the process of using a computer to complete all or part of a course. E-learning content can include text, images, animation, audio and video and is now an integral method of teaching students all over the globe.
No prior knowledge or work experience is needed to study any of our courses.
All of our courses will run on Windows-based PCs, Apple macs and iPads. We test our courses in a range of browsers but for best results we recommend that you use the latest version of Google Chrome.

Pro Zone is a private community where you can interact and learn from fellow members, including other fitness professionals, Future Fit master trainers and guest partners.
You can look forward to regular videos, articles, discussions, links to useful resources and access to all recorded webinars. Expect to be challenged with follow up tasks and activities to help you implement the knowledge.
There are no actual tests involved in joining the Pro Zone. However, you will need to complete a simple 3 question test in order to gain CPD points at the end of accredited webinars if you choose to participate. This test should only take a couple of minutes.
The content is based on current guidance and research, and previous qualifications that cover associated side effects and considerations, such as working with people with various respiratory conditions.
The content included is validated within its own field. Any content that is specific to COVID-19 alone has been evidenced from peer-reviewed journals as it emerges. Additionally, the course has been reviewed by various senior health and exercise professionals, all of whom are qualified in their respective fields.
There are no hidden monthly or extra fees for this course. Once you've paid, the course is yours and you can re-access it as often as you like.

Yes, this course gives you a good understanding of low back pain exercise and management to work in an NHS facility. You will not be able to prescribe physiotherapy courses and more specific exercise plans.

Whilst you'll benefit from experience in a gym, our incredibly experienced tutors will support you through your practical workshops and give you all the vital knowledge and experience you need to become a personal training.

Possibly! Courses of the same name vary between education providers and for this reason we cannot give a blanket answer. We are required by the awarding bodies to consider each student's application on an individual basis against criteria specified by the awarding bodies. We have a team of experienced professionals who will guide you through the process.
You may be able to miss out entire courses or skip some or all of the learning and go straight to the assessment for certain courses. This is decided on a case by case basis and will require you to provide evidence of relevant prior learning. Personal Training involves hiring a Personal Trainer to help a client meet their fitness goals, through the knowledge, skills, and abilities personal trainers possess. A personal trainer is a fitness professional who designs exercise programs and instructs exercise to help people achieve their fitness goals, which will often include weight loss, improving sports performance, or managing a health condition. They do this by working with people on a one-to-one basis and in a group setting.
The Personal training industry has seen continuous growth with a drop in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, meaning as an industry new trends were adopted. There has been increased attention to health, before COVID 19 fitness was angled on the physical aspect however there is now more of a focus on the connection between fitness and the immune system as a whole.
While you are training you can get student insurance from a company called Balens in order to teach, but you must declare that you are in training and charge a lower rate than you would if you were a fully qualified Pilates Instructor. You will, of course, need a proof of training letter from us in order to do this, and it will also be subject to eligibility criteria.
Yes, by the end of the standard course, you will have been taught all of the original 34 exercises. Your course tutors will have shown you how to modify each of the exercises so that you can teach a mixed ability class, plus you will have experience performing the advanced exercises yourself and learnt the relevant teaching and safety points in preparation for instructing others.
The RSPH Nutrition course is assessed by a combination of online exams, case studies and written assignments.

No, but you will be able to work as part of a team of clinical specialists to deliver screening and appropriate exercise programmes to clients.
No. Only approved courses (at level 3 or above) delivered by approved providers are eligible for ELCAS funding. The simplest way to check is by using the ELCAS approved provider search function.
If your course is eligible you can contact ELCAS to receive a Claim Authorization Note (CAN), which you can then present to the course provider when you book.
