Having retired from professional rugby in 2022, Don Armand is studying Life Coaching to take his passion for understanding the mind and improving mental wellbeing forward into his new career.
I was born in Zimbabwe, and moved over to South Africa where I eventually ended up studying psychology and organisation psychology while playing professional sport. My career path took me to play rugby in the UK for Exeter Chiefs and England.
Since retiring in 2022 I have founded a health and wellness in gaming brand called GAS : The Gaming Athlete, as well as being a director at a company called Sampson Armand, where I deliver leadership, strategy and culture days as well as coaching one-on-one.
I have a huge passion for people. I believe in all humans and how much potential we all have. I am fascinated with how our brains work; by our thoughts and the actions that follow, by mindset and motivation and how to take control of those aspects in order to lead us into living a better life in whichever way we so choose.

I chose to study with future fit because they were more than just a tick-box company selling something. We talked back and forth and got to know each others values, I know that what they align with fits into my direction and vice versa.

Being fortunate enough to make it in a professional sport, and having a drive to understand how people work, I was naturally drawn to gaining a higher level of understanding the different aspects of health.
Chris Hemsworth, just getting through his “Limitless” series. absolutely fantastic. The constant reminder that we take our health for granted and only realise its importance when it’s too late.

Try and understand what you are coming into, and that everyone is an individual. The better you understand, the better you can help others maximise their own potential in the way they know best.
The kind of workout that makes you want to come back for more. I like a mixture of weights and cardio, but not a workout where you physically can’t give anymore. Fitness for me is a lifestyle that you create to maximise enjoyment/contentment.
No, I was excited at the opportunity to raise my awareness of something that is so important.
Definitely sushi!
To teleport. Imagine the possibilities of seeing the world, but spending time with your loved ones rather than travelling. It would be amazing to not ever feel unable to change where you are due to travel requirements!
Fitness shouldn’t be seen as an add on, I feel it is a core essential for all humans to thrive, not just survive.
