As an actor, Ben's career makes fitness both a priority and a challenge but after making changes to his lifestyle that pushed him towards a better version of himself, Ben decided to study Level 3 Personal Training to pass on his passion for fitness.
My name is Ben Batt and I have been a professional actor for more than 15 years. I have worked extensively in all aspects of the industry, including film, television, stage and radio.
I grew up in Wigan, a rugby-mad town in Lancashire and I played for Orrell RUFC until I was about 18 before moving to London to study acting at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
After graduating, I was lucky enough to work all over the world, doing the job I love and meeting some incredible people.
Health and wellbeing has become a huge part of my life personally and professionally and as I get older (and maybe just a teeny bit wiser) my passion for all things fitness has grown and grown, and it’s something that is absolutely at the core of my identity!
I have always been a keen gym goer, but five years ago I made some significant changes to my lifestyle to help push me towards being a better version of myself, as a person and in overall general health and well-being. I landed a couple of roles that required me to get to a certain level of fitness, and that’s when I fell completely in love with the gym! I felt the benefits inside and out and started to work with a fabulous personal trainer, Lewis Brookes.
Over the last couple of years, I decided that one day I would love to study to become a professional personal trainer, to expand my knowledge and to pass on my passion for fitness to the people who had started asking me for tips on training whilst away filming. The performance world and fitness world have so many similarities in regards to discipline, confidence etc that I knew I would love to explore opportunities to combine the two and this is where my journey begins!

My favourite meal is spaggy b! I normally use extra lean mince with wholewheat pasta, but if it’s the weekend we go for a fresh linguine and plenty of Parmesan!
The film character I relate to the most is Walter Mitty! I love to spend time in my head, dreaming up stories and lose hours a week in my own little dreamland sometimes!
I chose to study with Future Fit because when I spoke to friends and advisors within the fitness community, it was Future Fit’s name that kept coming up!

I love all different types of workout, but who doesn’t enjoy a good push session! Bench press and some cable fly’s, followed by a big meal with plenty of protein and carbs. I’ll usually follow that up the day after with a nice run in the countryside!
Fitness has changed my life in ways I can’t measure. It has become a fundamental part of my life, and I know if I miss a few days training I can feel it mentally and physically. It has given me so much, and by making it such huge part of my life I have given myself so much too.
I am nervous to start my course, it means a lot to me to get this right but I’m equally excited too. I’ve wanted to do this for a long time and am grateful to everyone at Future Fit for being so welcoming. I can’t wait to start, but know I’ve got some hard graft ahead of me!
If I could have a superpower it would be to stop time! Life goes so quickly, and I’m a pretty busy person sometimes it’s hard to catch up. I’d hit the stop button and have a sleep in for a week!
